Partnership Overview
KBDI is excited to partner with Saint Joseph’s University Haub School of Business to offer interns the ability to complete a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in conjunction with the Dietetic Internship (DI). Saint Joseph’s University is located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and the MBA program can be completed 100% virtually.
Program Overview
Saint Joseph’s University MBA program is a total of 36 credits* built from three individual certificates.
All students who are interested in completing an MBA will take the graduate certificate in business administration, which includes courses in management, finance, business intelligence & analytics and marketing. Students then select two certificates that fit personal and professional goals. Students may take the certificates in any order. KBDI strongly recommended students pursue leadership or healthcare management.
Classes are normally offered in 8-week accelerated sessions, with classes meeting live online one evening per week.

Interns who enroll in the MBA Program at Saint Joseph’s University will be required to complete 12 courses – 36 credits. A grade of B or better is required in all courses. Enrolled interns will complete 6 to 12 credit hours per semester for 3 to 5 semesters while concurrently completing their internship rotations. Classes will be offered online in 8-week accelerated sessions. Most classes meet live online one evening per week.
Students will be permitted to select up to two specialty certificates based on their career and educational goals. Healthcare Management and Leadership are recommended. To ensure completion of the MBA program we recommend for interns to meet with an academic advisor and to register early each semester to create the schedule that works best for each intern. Up to five foundation modules (self-paced) may be required (statistics, business intelligence & analytics, management, economics, and accounting). These foundation courses may be completed as soon as interns are accepted into the MBA.
Interns who enroll in this path will be responsible for selecting their own supervised practice rotations from the following framework: 3 weeks community rotation, 9 weeks clinical rotation, 6 weeks food service management rotation, 7 weeks business rotation (should have at least 2 different business rotations), and 3 weeks independent enrichment rotation. Interns will be permitted to select their preferred time frame for each rotation, within the ranges listed above.
To ensure completion of the necessary 1080 supervised practice hours and 40 alternative practice hours, interns will be required to complete a total of 28 weeks of supervised practice hours. Interns will have received “meets” and/or “exceeds” and/or “entry level” on all rotation evaluations, including rotation and curriculum assignments. Interns will have successfully completed their relevant Business Plans. Interns will have presented their final Business Plan to the KBDI Staff and received “meets” and/or “exceeds” on the final. The MBA – DI track is generally between 14 – 20 months to complete the supervised practice hours and graduate classes. The Dietetic Internship Verification Statement will be provided to graduates who have successfully completed their supervised practice rotations and associated assignments, rotation and final business plans, and master’s degree classes.
Graduate students pay $1,140 per Credit hour.
Health insurance option is available through St. Joseph’s for $2,100 per year.
Interns are responsible for providing their own housing, transportation, and meals.
