Finding Your Path in Dietetics
- Complete a bachelor’s degree and receive a verification statement from an ACEND-accredited program. Note: Effective January 1, 2024, a minimum of a master’s degree will be required to be eligible for the RDN exam.
- Complete an ACEND-accredited supervised practice dietetic internship program and a master’s degree.
- The Komplete Business Dietetic Internship is a Distance Dietetic Internship Program. Upon our ACEND-accreditation interns will complete supervised and alternative practice hours in our program to achieve ACEND and KBDI competencies.
- Interns can either complete a Master’s program with one of KBDI’s partners. Interns may also opt to complete a graduate degree prior to enrolling in KBDI or they may also enroll in KBDI if they are at least 50% done with their master’s degree prior to orientation.
- Pass the Commission on Dietetic Registration’s dietetic registration exam.
- Gain licensure in your state of practice, if applicable.
- Maintain continuing education.
Effective January 1, 2024 CDR will require a minimum of a Master’s Degree for candidates to be eligible to take the credentialing exam. Visit the Commission on Dietetics Registration website for more information.

The Komplete Business Dietetic Internship prepares interns to take the RD Credentialing Exam and become entry level Registered Dietitian Nutritionists through the following steps:
- Successful completion of all supervised practice hours.
- Ratings of meets expectations or greater on all preceptor evaluations.
- Successful completion of all class day assignments and quizzes.
- Successful completion of Rotation and Final Business Plans.
- Successful completion of RDN exam prep course provided by KBDI.
- Successful completion of a graduate degree. Graduate coursework can be completed prior to or during KBDI.

During the KBDI class days we work on helping our interns understand the different paths in nutrition, dietetics and business. We will review personality considerations. Our interns have the opportunity to meet many Registered Dietitian Nutritionists with a wide variety of career paths.
